He is in brill health its just he has stains from his eyes down his upper cheeks ! is this normal ? he has black eye liner marks under his eys but his cheeks are white (spotless) they dont look infected , just looks like he has been crying but not in the eye itself if that makes sense !!??

Thats the word ....... Tear stains ....... how do you remove / prevent them ??

Hello

You can use Optrex (eye drops from the chemist) to remove and prevent them, use it on my bulldogs, so i should imagine it would be okay for Dalmatians :)
Dont put them in the eyes though, just put a few drops onto some cotton wool to wipe the area where they are stained. HTH:)

Hi,
When you take him to the vet in the next day or so, get the vet to check his eyes. It's not normal for dalmatians to have tear-stains at all. He could have an infection which wil need treatment.

Good luck. What are you calling him?

Hi,
Great name! This mad 'dashing then crashing' is absolutely normal - whatever they do, they do it full-on!

About the paper - I'm guessing this is only down at night or when you have to go shopping or whatever?Because of course you don't want him to think going on paper indoors is what you want (otherwise today's newspaper left on the coffee-table will get watered!). So when you are able to watch him, don't have paper down at all, but take him outside frequently instead. When he messes when you're out, just clear it up (on the paper or not) and remove the paper without saying anything.

They're usually very quick to learn that messing inside is bad, outside is good!
