Hello all you dog lovers out there. I was wondering if any of you could help me. I am looking to adopt into our family either an Apricot miniature/Toy poodle or a Bichon Frise. Now before anyone replies for me to check out the breeders list I have done so and sent off e-mails to several of them some 3/4 weeks ago - but, boo hoo :-( have had no reply from anyone as yet. So I just thought I would tell you all a bit about myself in case there is someone out there who thinks I would make a good match for one of their puppies.

My name is Yola (I'm NZ born polish) and I have been married to my husband Chris for 14 years come feb 04 (he's still quite cute, and he's polish too). We have two children, Kate who's 10 1/2 and Michael who's 8. We've come from New Zealand as my husband was offered a three year work contract which has now be offered and happily accepcted by us all as a permanent possition. We live in Sevenoaks, Kent and have been here for almost one year and I can happily say that I'm not missing NZ one little bit (the weather here is much nicer - not as much wind!!!) I work from home making hand crafted jewellery and I also paint. I get lonely for company and would love the companionship of a K9 friend (I did give my husband the option of either a boyfriend for me or a dog - he chose the latter...ha ha!) I have been a dog owner before. We had a Goldie called "Jess" who was with us for 11 years, but she sadly left this world when she was involved in a car accident back in NZ :-(
We will be moving house in December and also travelling abroad so the best time to introduce a new member into our family would be early January 04. So if anyone out there knows of an upcomming litter, or there is a last of a litter pup who hasn't found a new home as yet, please please, consider us.

PS: I have been doing a lot of homework ie: reading up on both breeds and also watching grooming and training videos non stop just to see their cute faces!
PPS: Sorry about any spelling mistakes it's never been my strong point - I can still hear my dad saying to this day "spell it like it sounds girl spell it like it sounds!"
*Only because he is a terrible speller as well*;-)

you can phone up the KC and ask them for breeders lists for those to breeds.

they will tell you breeders you currently have litters or are planning to have litters.

Hi Jolanta

Welcome to Champdogs! If you can make it to London this weekend, Discover Dogs is on at Earls Court and you could meet representatives of your preferred breeds there. You'll find info about it on the Kennel Club website.

Lesley

PS Are you SURE the UK is better than New Zealand :)

Hello Jolanta this is a great place to make new friends. :)

I know, just about all the english folk I say that to*about the weather and loving it here* they look at me as if I am nuts! But yes I do really love it here. The only thing I think is weird is the queing system which is ok when one que is in the works, but it's strange to see one que when there are multible check outs open and it winds it's way all around the shop rather than lots of mini ques for each checkout....VERY STRANGE. Oh Oh, I almost forgot the way a machine ansers the phone in 95% of business phone calls. Back in NZ it's the other way round - that is, 95% is people ansering. But I've no dout that everyone here finds that maddining.

PS: Thanks LF going to try and make it out on Sunday! Looks like lots of fun.

WOW! What a lovely day at Discover Dogs in Earl's Court centre. I arrived there at 1ish and spent the next 2/3 hours wondering around. The Bichon Frise display was empty so I didn't get to talk to someone about that breed. BUT oh no!!! I saw and fell in love with the Bedlington Terrier so am now quite confused as to what path to go down???? (I've never seen a Bedlington before, I don't think you can find that breed in NZ)

Will now be doing some searching and Info gathering, so if anyone out there want's to comment on the pro's and con's of owning a Bedlington - I would be glad to here from you.
Kind Regards
ME :-)

Hi and Welcome to Champ Dogs :)

Jolin71 has Bedlington's, so she'll be able to answer your questions.
If you click onto her name, she has her homepage listed where you can go and look.

Hope you don't mind this Jolin :)

Hi Steph

How do I find Jolin71's link. I've tried the search, Help and Options buttons and am not having any luck.
I've also done a quick search on the Forum to see if they have posted lately - I can't find one.
Do you know where they last posted?
Also checked out breeders list can't make a match for that name.

Kind regards
ME.

Awwww...again!

Linda if you read this....what honnies you have!!! I'd only seen the blue Bedlington and your Nala is a cutie. But I think that I love the cream color even more after seeing your two togeather. What a great idea to be able to post photo's of your dogs on this site.
To be able to see a Bedlington out of show coat was also helpful...gave me a better idea what one looks like in the everyday garment!!!

Kind regards
ME
