I went to lay with Daisy on the couch to watch her for more signs of labor. She was panting, then after while, I felt her grunt a bit, so I got up to take her into her whelping box, figuring the time was approaching. IT SURE WAS! When I got up, I felt my butt was damp, so I looked down and her water had already broken! I took her to her box, and began to wrap her tail when she grunted again, and out came a pup!!!
An hour later, and 3 grunts, and a second pup! She's making this look effortless!!!!
One boy, one girl so far..very helathy and looking great so far!!

We're up to 4 boys, one girl. Daisy is doing great, and her timing is like clockwork! She goes for one hour, has a pup, then waits 30 minutes, has another...then another hour...keeps the rotation going! We also have what looks to be one light golden, one dark, and 3 mediums. :)

my bitch had her pups early on saturday morning and i missed the

she wasn`t showing any signs of being that far into her labour

She may fool us. She's been pushing again for the last hour off and on. We have the vet coming soon to check her over, so I guess she can tell us if we have yet another pup trying to make it's way into the world. :)

She did indeed have one more pup. A female, stillborn. :(
Vet was here and she is empty now, so no more pups. Vet says too many babies, we will have to supplement feeding, so instead of a nap, We're off to get milk replacer. But pups we have all look good. :)

I can't believe how many!! Boy, do the boys outnumber the girls! You are going to be so busy! Did you need to be there to assist or did she do most of it?

Shame about the little one, but 14 is a fantastic number. You'll have your work cut out with that lot :D

Karen
Big congrats to you and mum, mainly mum!!!!What breed is your girl and how are the feeds going?

She did almost all of the work, she was a fantastic first-timer! Vet was here and said the pups look good for so many, but as we feared, Daisy's milk can't keep up with the demand yet, so we've had to supplement feed a few of the littler ones. Daisy is now getting condensed sweet milk with water twice a day to help this problem, and though I didn't want to supplement, I must say it worked! For the first time since they were born, everyone is finally sound asleep, full and content! We're only bottle feeding the ones that are not getting enough milk... except for the little girl who is struggling. She refused the bottle, so once everyone was full and sleepy, we placed her on one of moms best teats and she nursed very well till she was asleep too. :)
Can I nap now?????? :)
