I need some help! I'm a bullmastiff owner of 6 years and have just recently lost his companion...a 7 year old husky. My husband & I want to get another dog and I initally thought...another bullmastiff. He on the other hand is interested in the Cane Corso mastiff. I just can't find a whole lot of info on the breed. Can anyone who owns a Cane tell me the pros and cons of this breed. I am someone who needs to know what I'm getting myself into before I can make a decission. The mastiff breeds are definatley for us...I can't seem to get the right info on this breed. Thanks! :)

Hi i have got corsos tell me what you would like to know and i will try to help you,.How many dogs live in house/ children/ life style this breed is very active i work mine in obedience/and other forms of training , the males really are not happy with lots of people around them and only take notice of one! and that would be the trainer/, females tend to be abit better they like the family, they will protect family/home they can be a very stand- offish breed they are nothing like the bullmastiff or mastiff more i would have to say like the neapolitan so need to buy from very good breeder that knows the breed well, pups from last litter went to nice family homes and all the feed back is good two are working well in obedience. they will mix but need to be very carefull all this depends on owners. If you would like more info just ask. if you want my web site just ask.

I was hoping you would reply! My husband & I don't have children at the moment but will be in the next year or 2. We have 2 cats & only 1 dog at the moment. Logan (my bullmastiff) had grown up w/2 males in our house (Malamute & Husky). Logan had a tough time w/my Mal picking fights w/him...so I know bringing in a another dominant male would not be a good idea. We have people over our house ALL the time & my dogs are always w/us & our company....so having a dog trust our judgement is imperative! Another guard dog is what we would like but I don't want to worry about an attack dog. I understand that corsos need to be trained right from the get go & we have no problem w/that. Are corsos ok when bringing home a new baby, are they good around smaller animals, do they tend to be dominant around other dogs. I'd love to see your website as well! Thanks for the reply! :)
