Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / whats wrong with them having chocolate?
- By guest [gb] Date 24.11.03 19:51 UTC
My 9 mth pup is always eating chocolate he follows my 2 yr old everywhere waiting for a bit milky bar or chocolate buttons but he never ever seems any different does it do something that i wouldn't notice or do they all get the shakes and runny stools? I don't feed him chocolate but if she drops a biscuit or sweet its gone this is my first dog and i hope i havn't been too ignorant thinking they can eat anything and everything without any ill effect i feel terrible now it seems that the very thing that is bad for them they love even more as crisps, cake and rolls or bread are left well alone

Chocolate, other than doggie chocolate, is poisonous to dogs. Many dogs have died after eating (usually a substantial amount) chocolate

a little bit of chocolate wont harm a dog, except the small ones. all my dogs will get abit of chocolate now and then but hardly anything.

Its when a dog eats lots of chocolate then it harms them and can kill. it is simply poisionous and your child must be taught not to give the dog any of his food. i no that it is hard but unfortantly its not only dogs you have to train:)
