My 22mth old T.T. after an upset tummy, has decided not to eat. I think she thinks that if she holds out she will get chicken and rice. But its been 5 days now and apart from tit bits when training has not eaten. Any ideas?

We always used to say that no dog would starve itself to death but I know of at least one who nearly did just that! So obviously you need to do something. What I would do is, if she will eat chicken and rice, give it to her! Next day mix just a little of what you want to feed her on with it. Just enough to put a slight scent on it. The following day just a little more until finally you are back to what YOU want to feed. But, Dogs aren’t daft! Change over very slowly or she'll twig what you are doing!!! It's times like this that I'm glad I have the canine dustbins, Labradors!

Five days without eating seems quite a long time.Have you considered a trip to the vets?I once had a similar problem with my cat after abdominal exploratory operation and in the end the vet had to give him an injection to get him to eat as well as us having to provide his most favourite food(tuna).
Have you been to the vets - your dog could have a blockage.
This is close to home at the moment as my male Dobe stopped eating Friday (not unusual for a couple of days with him,) was sick Sunday, vets Monday and Tuesday, Operation (very expensive) Wednesday and home Thursday. Even today he is not wanting to eat and instead of the expensive tinned stuff provided by the vets he is eating a little chicken and rice that I made a big display of cooking, put on my plate along with a biscuit, ate the biscuit and he then showed an interest when I put the rest in his bowl!

Hi, might be worth offering some natural live yoghurt. Perhaps try a Pro-biotic, especially if he's been on Antibiotics lately. I'd give her chicken and rice if it will start her eating again. TT?? Is that Tibetan Terrier? Hope things improve for her.
