Topic Other Boards / Foo / Colloidal Silver...any success/failures?
- By kath_barr [gb] Date 20.11.03 07:16 UTC
I'm thinking of getting some Colloidal Silver for my Dad. He's just had a cancer op postponed as he has recurring chest infections. He had a heart bypass op earlier this year which was also cancelled first time for the same reason. Has anyone used it for infections (or anything for that matter)? He also had bleeding stomach ulcers after the heart op, would it help with those or make them worse? I don't know much about it so any feedback or info would help. :)

Thanks,
Kath.

Hi Kath, so sorry to hear about your dad. Yes I`ve used it, but only had cause for minor things. On humans & dog`s I`ve found it stopped the bleeding from cuts straight away & no infection occured. Just recently I used it myself for an abcess in my gum, what happened tho was it healed over too quickly without draining properly so I don`t know about how ulcers are supposed to heal, in my rush to get rid of it I forgot about that. There is a CS board on yahoo that you get info from.
Have you heard of Manuka honey from New Zealand? They have done trials with it on people with ulcers, both internal & external with great results, I don`t have the web addy but you`ll find it on google easily. Also honey & garlic is great for chest infections.
Kath I hope he gets better soon, it must be hard for you all.

here you are Kath, link for the honey & CS

Sorry just realised the one for CS is for animals but they`ll tell you about it for humans :)

Thanks so much Christine, that's a great help. I'm glad I mentioned the ulcers. I've heard that it can be used in a spray for nasal passages so that might be a safer option and also more effective for a chest infection. (I feel some more research coming on!) :)

Thanks also for the links, don't worry that one is for animals, any info is welcome, like you say it will work for all species. (and I'll probably use it on the animals sometime too). :) I had heard of Manuka honey but don't know much about it so I'll read up on that too.

Many thanks again Christine,
Kath xx

Hi Kath, here`s the link for the honey in UK in case you need it, propolis is good stuff as well you know. Also I got my CS from Brenda on the britbarf group, she ordered it in bulk but not sure if she has any at the mo, if you want her addy just shout she`s very nice & helpful. I know with the CS you have to make sure of it`s strenght/purity?? one of those things, she`ll tell you anyway :) Haven`t come across the nasal spray, I got a spray bottle with it tho & use that for cuts & things for all of us, in fact I use it for me & Bernard more than anything cos we get far more cuts than the dogs ever do :D & then a little bit in their water bowl out the ordinary bottle. I`m hoping to get my own machine to make it myself next yr
Hope you find something for him that`ll help. :)

Thanks again, Christine, you are an angel. :) :) It was Brenda's message on Britbarf that got me thinking about it. She's just sent her order off unfortunately. I didn't feel I knew enough about it to order any yet. :( Never mind, I can get a small amount to try it then order more later.
I've just read about the machines, I may get one too eventually. :) My head is buzzing with new info. :D :D

Hi Christine, just an update and to say thanks again. :)

Decided not use the CS for Dad just yet (certainly will in the future tho) as his ulcers have started bleeding again, possibly due to the antibiotics (it's one of the side effects!!) But I'm ordering some Active Manuka honey 16+ for him from the site you gave me and have just got some from the health food shop. It was only 5+ but I thought it would help him till the other arrives.

Thankyou so much for mentioning it. It sounds like it will work for the resistant Staph. infection as well as the ulcers. :)

Oh Kath, sorry to hear about them bleeding again. I do hope the honey works for them & the infection tho :)
I know I`d certainly try it, please keep us updated on him :)

Hi Christine,
just to let you know Dad had his op. on Thursday and he is doing very well so far. :)  The CS arrived the other day ( as you know Brenda had a few spare bottles ...I've started using it myself already :) ) and the 16+ honey arrives next week so we're all set for any invading bugs LOL . They will both help with his immune system too, as it must have taken quite a battering. Hopefully the 5+ honey will have helped already.

Thanks so much for your help and support, it's much appreciated, by me, and Mum and Dad too.

Hi Kath, I`ve been wondering how he was but thought I`d better wait for an update before asking. I`m so pleased for you all that it went well :) Hope it continues & I`m sure they honey & CS will help him a lot :)
