Topic Dog Boards / General / Lovely walk this morning

Me and Buddy have had a great walk this morning. It was one of those mornings which makes you glad to be alive. We walked around our fairly local park (about 3 miles away). The park is large with large expanses of flat ground, some rough long grassy areas and a boating lake with swans, ducks etc all of which was crisp and white with the sun trying its best to break through the mist. Not too many people and dogs around to begin with. As more people arrived dressed for the cold like me everyone seemed to be in good spirits and very pleasant, all the dogs seemed to be in good form too, running to greet each other then playing for a while till they ran off again to their respective owners. I love mornings like this, not even scraping the car can spoil it and i hate having to scrape ice of the car.
Hope you've all enjoyed your first walk of the day as much as me.

I was out at 3 am with mine this morning. A beautiful night with a really hard frost. Nice to let them charge around letting off steam without worrying who else is around and keeping them close :)

Glad you had a good walk - ours has been absolutely HORRENDOUS!! It is still raining (has been since Friday) - but even though we are on well-draining land, because it has been so dry, most of it is still lying on the surface - which makes everything like a greasepan - I almost went base over apex at our gate - the dogs just love it & are pulling at this stage of the game!

However, having decided that we couldn't get down to Ardingley today to show - we've also got a leaky roof over the bathroom which we're going to have to deal with - at least we haven't bothered trying to dry off the Aussies - they've had a whle of a time 7 Beau & Vinnie look as if they've been mud-wrestling - so theyve been put in the kennel & run & will be brushed out when they've dryed off!!

It does feel more like Autumn now, though - the leaves are finally leaving the trees.

We have had a HORRENDOUS walk today too. I didn't realise how much rain we must have had yesterday, the fields are flooded, the ditches filled, one of mine has been swimming in them. Theyn are both in the kitchen very wet, very muddy and very smelly.......seems a long time to summer.

I didn't know there was a show at Ardingly today, that explains the weather, I have given up going to winter shows there, it always rains and all that cold wet sand......yukky!!

Think I might open the lunchtime bottle of wine early and put a movie on the television.

It has been raining here in Dorset since 7.30am. I have been out with my five dogs to the forest, if we walk amongst the trees we dont get too wet, although my dogs will go out in any weather, it was a great walk, I have done a bit of cleaning ,am washing endless dog blankets, and cooked a few cakes and baked a loaf of bread, just sat down now for a cup of coffee before I think what to do for lunch.

had a good walk today on the beach. my dog paired up with a golden lab going in the same direction and had lots of fun, though the lab was 6 times her size! just the right amount of people and dogs about and everyone pleasant with well behaved dogs.....and we got back to the car just as the rain started - good timing!

Sorry folks! Bright, crisp sunny day up here in Lancashire, and the leaves left the trees about 3 weeks ago! Sparky, however, can't be exercised off lead until he has his stitches out tomorrow, poor chap, so he is having to make do with boring road walking. Felt it would be just too cruel to take him to the park and make him watch his mates having a fine time without letting him join in.

Absolutely sodden here in NOT sunny Kent. Its rained continually here since early on Friday morning. I'm still plucking up the courage to take Alfie out and its 13.44 - must go in a mo though, so out with the wellies etc..............

No walk. Parts of the lawn are under water. I'm just off to Focus in a moment to get a couple more boxes of nails - got to finish building the ark before nightfall.

We had frosty fun too. The pond was iced over and Morse's face when he stuck his nose in was sooo comical! I love the grasses laced with rime and the cobwebs all spangled. At night the stars are so bright theyre like ice chips. I could be out all day with my dog. Frost seems to activate a million smells too and he dosent know which one to follow first. :)

Its raining here in Cambridge as well and has been all weekend, the dogs loved it though and managed to get themselves covered in mud, still it kept me busy all afternoon cleaning them down.

absolutly lovely up here in middlesbrough although we didnt get a proper walk until lunchtime, the sun was out and the air was really fresh.

Dont think the geese that are on the lake at the moment were very pleased to see us though lol - Kara did her favourite ta-daa im here pounce and they all flew for sancturary on the water lol. Had a good play and a dig with a whippet cross though.

OMG, im a doggy person lol has happened without me even realising
