I am on a mission to get as many people informed of a terrible illness which is mainly in cavalier king charles spaniels but is in some other small breeds as well. If you have a dog which is scratching at the neck area, going frantic scratching the floor, rubbing head into furniture or floor, yelping for no reason, scratches and cries when out on the lead, hypersensitive on shoulders and neck areas then please ask you vert about the possibility of you dog having syringohydromyelia (arnold chiari malformation). I had to have my dog "Chad" put to sleep this year just before his 3rd birthday. Not many vets know about the illness and treat for fleas/ear infections/food allergies etc when the poor dog has a major illness. Thank you for reading and please pass the info on to your vets because there are lots of suffering little dogs out there who aren't getting diagnosed. Thank you so much, Angela.

Hi Angela,
I'm so sorry. Chad's is a heartbreaking story. Hopefully by informing people you'll save others going through the same tragedy.
Best wishes
Kath
That's awful Angela - i have heard of this but only very recently, and it is important more people get to hear about it.
Best wishes
Lindsay
