Hi,
Just got in from being out shopping and found our lab spinning in circles trying to get to her tail.
Boyf tried to look at it to see what was wrong and she won't let him touch her tail.
It seems to be hanging from one side.
Will call vet in morning, but was wondering if anyone knows what might me wrong?
Just a thought but could a door have slammed shut on it, one of our cats had 4 inches of his tail stripped completely by a door slamming on it once still makes me wince now.
Cheers
Steve

Thanks for the thought, but there was only her and Cara in and the kitchen door was propped open with the chair.
Could she have harmed it when her and Cara have been playing?
What treatment did the cat need?

Some years ago one of my dals got bumped into by another, and her tail was partially dislocated near the root. Although the vet got the joint relocated, the ligament was damaged and she never regained proper use of it. It just hung like a horse's tail. Sad to see a wagless dalmatian.
Hope yours is better than this - if it's no better soon, see the vet (why do they always do this at the weekend?)

Hi,
Thanks, that sounds like what it could possibly be, although she can wag it a little but it does seem like a horses tail the way its hung.
Vets opens at 10, so will call them.

Sad to see any dog wagless:(
Do hope all will be OK
Let us know what happens.

Poor old Jake the cat had to have the end of his tail cut off I'm afraid but he was fine afterwards.

thanks
Will let you know what the vet says.
Its only emergency surgery Sunday mornings, so they may not answer the phone, but if they don't we'll be on first thing monday.

Cazf - silly question you may think, but has she been swimming recently?

No, she's not been swimming for a while.
It only happened today at some point whilst we were out.
She doesn't appear to be in a lot of pain, I just think its very tender because she is sitting funny and is trying to bite her tail everynow and again.
