how old do the smooth coat chihuahuas get before they breed?

Any bitch is able to be bred from once they have their first season. However, the Kennel Club in the UK will not accept registrations from bitches that have whelped BEFORE their first birthday. I personally will not breed from a bitch under 2 years of age. I believe that they should have time to develop mentally first rather than just physically.
