We have two cocker spaniels and we cannot leave our rubbish bin in the kitchen with them. We thought by putting it in a cupboard they would not be able to get at it, how wrong could we be, we put a chair in front of the cupboad door and they have learnt to move it and then open the door and up-end the bin. Does anyone have any bright ideas.

get a heavy duty bin with the side clips, that's what i have...one of those retro steel things, Dog can't even move it let alone up end it :)

Ahhhhhh - spaniels and their stomachs :( Apart from removing the bin each time you leave them alone, there's not a lot you can do. I manage to keep my fairly safe by having it on a couple of plastic storage boxes (but have to make sure nobody leaves a kitchen chair infront of it), alternatively you could consider crating them if you have room while you are out.......)

Have you tried using the cupboard locks to prevent toddler-access? Ask in Mothercare or Boots ...
