Have arranged to visit my pup on dec.7th,as it is a round trip of 15 hrs I think it will be the only time we see her before we get her in January,would ideally like to see her every week but it's just not possible,anybody out there with a boerboel can you tell me what you looked for in your pup.I'm looking for soundness and temperamant first and foremost,my preferred colour comes way down the list.

Lucky you. :) Im sure she'll be worth the journey. Will the breeder send you email pictures to compensate?

Sandra, I had exactly the same situation with Diesel, we're in Scotland and he was in Lincolnshire I checked my email every single day to see if there was any new piccies, I'm sure I drove Sara mad :) I would have loved to have seen him more, but he was just so far away. we went down before he was born (while we were deciding which breeders we liked best) again when he was 4wks old and then finally, to bring him home - but a 15hr round trip is gruelling to say the least :) but you're getting something nice at the end of it....so there's some compensation there. Bet you can't wait until the 7th :)

When we picked Taz hybrd (wolf/rott) now 158 pounds (I no not the same breed), we put him in our arms and craddled him on his back-no squirming great, then we pinched between his toes (not real hard just a lil pressure) no whining great. We also threw down some keys and he went away but did come back to investigate them, there's more but that was the main ones. We never looked twice at the pup that stayed in the corner or the one that ran right up to us and was pushy. We had it narrowed down to three pups but Taz was the only one that passed all our tests. He is a very docile dog who adores attention and belly rubs, at that size and breed I'm very happy with his temperment he's our big Teddy bear. Dollface,can't believe the size of your boy,have put it on my faves to show hubby.Obviously with 4 akitas already our girl is going to have to be a little bit bolshie as the mad bunch are quite rough players but as long as she is introduced to this gradually I don't envisage a problem,my big boy is nearly 7 and he is a great parent to all the pups so I have no qualms about him too,can't wait to see her.Sandra.PS where in canada are you,I have a sister in winnipeg and brother in law has just won a big position in Cupe.
