our golden retriever keeps getting like a rash over different parts of his body/now they are on his back.when we took him to his vets they gave us pills which helped but when the pills finishes a week or 2 later they re appear we no he must be allergic to something but we dont know what,we walk him the same place but keep him out of long grass now,he has a new cotton bed which gets washed in water only no detergent, could it be his food we give him winalot biscuits and a bit of winalot meat at night.if any one can help us with advise we would be most gratefull.the dog is 4 years old.
yours faithfully

It may be an allergy to the ingredients in the food , try to find a hypoallergenic food ( Arden Grange , Red Mills or any other leading complete feeds that are Wheat / Gluten free) , my bully used to have skin problems when fed on chum complete , but touch wood since I've changed his diet he hasn't ahd anything re-occuring . We also treated the skin with Fuciderm which was applied directly to the affected areas - have you tried this ? it can only be purchased from vets though.

to be honest it could be anything from food to carpeting if you do want to try changing his food give him boiled chicken and rice if this does work you will probably only realise after about a week or so not too sure of the effect time and it does vayy in all dogs try using the boiled chicken and rice diet if that works play it from there by giving him something like sensitivity control which should be availible from your vets not petshops as it is a prescription drug i know they make it for cats and am 99% sure they make it for dogs but it will be more expensive than normal food if you follow my advice and it is the food 9 times out of ten that will sort it out!!
