Bought pair toy poodles..Pwdigree pups from reputable fairly local to me as pets. As pets however my eight year old daughter wanted to start Junior Handling. Both Sire and Dam are registered . I paid pedigree prices but when I asked for KC registration, ebven offered to pay because my daughter really wants to learn how to handle but not dead serious she has refused and says its policy that they dont i do not know what to do. Anyone got a suggestion?

Just a pedigree means nothing unfortunately if you want to show, must be kc reg. Some breeders charge different prices for different things, they are the unscrupulous ones, have you anything in writing, contract, receipt etc to say it will be registered,I really feel for you no doubt you are going to get into a long argument with this breeder, hope not,and hope everything is okay,Sandra. There shouldn't be a problem if both parents are registered, appeal to their better nature, maybe they do have a heart!!

Find the fact that this 'breeder' allowed 2 puppies to go together to someone who appears to be a new dog owner. Hope I am wrong, but would think the reason they won't register is because they can't, the bitch either being to old or over bred.
Keep trying, you never know you may be lucky, if not you will have to become a 3 dog household and choose the breeder with more care next time, if you register with us we can help guide you.

Hope you have some success, but as Jackie says, the fact that they allowed you to buy 2, doesn't make it sound as if they are very reputable. If you're not successful, your daughter can still compete in Companion Shows with them - much cheaper than open or Ch. Shows. She can get plenty of practice & then when she's older, if she's still interested, you can buy her a KC Reg. dog as well!!
