my lab cross has what looks like a wart on the inner top eyelid, it doesn't seem to be bothering her and i am going to take her to the vets tomorrow but in the meantime has anyone seen anything like this before?

Yes, my older lab (then 10) had one in the same place. It was irritating her eyeball and she was rubbing her face on the carpet, on the sofa's and with her paw so obviously it was causing her discomfort so the vet removed it.

Cassie the newbie (10yrs old) has one and did have a slight infection but seems to be OK for the moment after some treatment. If it is not causing any bother then it can be left but if it is affecting the eye causing discomfort then it is wise to get them removed.

thanks folks, it is only tiny at the moment and doesn't seem to be affecting her but i'll still get the vet to check it out!!:)

A couple of my dogs have had these in (very) old age. They never grew big enough to cause problems, my vet just said to keep an eye on them & if they started causing problems they could be removed.

my lab/springer cross had one last year he was only 13 months ,we first noticed it about october time and kept an eye on it so to speak but it grew quiet fast and the vet suggested they took it off before it got to big as the eye is such a delicate tissue area and i must say they did a very good job you have to look quite close to see the scar but apart from all of uss having sore legs where sam would keep knocking into us with his'lampshade' he got over the op really quick
