Afraid Boxers don't settle down til they're about 8 years old! You've a long way to go - mines 9 mths old and a right handful.

I have a 14 month old boxer and she was 8 months when I got her. She is my first dog and I find her very well behaved when she is around people just wants lots of love but leave her alone and what a nightmare. Very intelligent breed and never to be under estimated. She is still settling in really but getting better every day. Lots of people stop me in the street and say that they adore boxers and one person even said that there are dogs and there are boxers which made me proud to own her.

getting your dog done does not calm them down!

with a boxer you need alot of patients, firm but kind handling, lots of training and wait untill they get older!

any 7 mth pup will be hyper.

as for more info, you should know everything BEFORE you get the breed but if you search the web or this site you will find much more info.

i was only going by what the vet said!
the thing with boxers is every1 thinks they know best so what 1 person tells is not always right. i looked at loads of sites before i got him !

George good for u being informed before you embarked on such a huge resposiblilty well done.

Does your vet keep boxers? If not, better to listen to boxer owners about breed traits.
:)

HAVE YOU EVER HAD ONE?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 18.11.03 22:03 UTC
No.That's why I suggest you talk to people who have! They know their breed best.

George did you meet as many boxer owners and dogs? Did you contacted breed rescues aswell?
My personal prefernce is not to get my dog castrated as its part of his charector to be clownish and boisterous.

remember the straight and narrow path is the only one which does not seem to have a traffic problem
