Anyone got any good suggestions? I will tell you if it will be a boy or a girl after I have been to see the litter next weekend. But if anyone has any really good ideas for either sex I'd love to hear them. We have thought about Oscar, Toby or Harvey for a boy (lots of Harvey's around though), and Nellie, Bella, Flossie or Rosie for a girl. It is very hard because you just can't call a Bulldog any old name can you? I mean Fluffy just wouldn't suit!! Lol.
Hi Tracy
Chance or Hewitt for a boy
Lola or Mist for a girl
Let us know what you get and what you decide to call it
Michelle:)

Hello all.
We picked our beautiful little girl today. We decided to call her Nellie, and she is adorable. I just want to munch her little ears!
She is red and white, with a mainly white face. She has a darker patch over her ear and one eye. She has the tiniest little black nose, and little black around her lips (looks like lipstick!). She is 6 weeks old on Tues, so we will be fetching her 2 weeks Tues. I can't wait...argh.
I would just like to say that I am REALLY peeved at the post below about having a puppy for Christmas. We have wanted a Bulldog for about 10 years now, but we waited until we had a bigger house and our kids were old enough to be responsible. We bought books on the breed and educated ourselves before making any decisions, and I have never ever felt more ready for a puppy than we are now. However, due to the cost of Bulldog puppies and the fact we have two young children that think Santa has unlimited funds, we decided to try and get a puppy as close to Christmas as we could. We simply cannot afford to get a pup in say September, and then afford another £1000 in pressie for us and the girls. Therefore I have to tell the children that we ask Santa for a puppy, and just get them a few bits and pieces to open xmas day. I feel very strongly about anyone questioning my intelligence, I am quite well educated actually, and I feel very insulted by this article. Just because we want a puppy when we feel we can afford it best, I don't see how that makes me irresponsible. Sure some people might buy on a whim, and regret it later...but surely anyone who pays the going rate for a bulldog puppy, is not doing it on a whim!! Gone on a bit, sorry. I don't want to answer that thread in particular, because I am so angry and I don't want to get drawn into a narrow minded debate.
Congratulations on Nellie after your long wait.:) I relate to that as I waited 30 years to be in the right position to have ANY kind of dog! Just imagining the glow on your little girls faces makes me smile. Any photos of Nellie for the board?

Hi. I had her from a breeder in Yorkshire. We will pick her up two weeks on Tuesday (the agonising wait!). I am so happy, she is so gorgeous that I am sure she would just win any show I entred her for ;)
Seriously, I have only ever been to one show before, it was an open show for the Birmingham and Midland Bulldog club. It was a great experience, but I don't really know anything about showing and would not know where to start to be honest! I guess a first step would be ringcraft classes, but after that I have no idea. I don't know what all the different classes mean, e.g. limit bitch...I mean what limit? Is it weight limit? Experience limit? Age limit? I picked little Nellie as an affectionate little beauty, I don't know whether she would have any potential for show. Perhaps I could send you a pic of her. I think I would like to find a little show, where only a couple of Bulldogs enter for a class. Then even if she was last in the group she would get a little rosette. :) In fact I might make her a little rosette myself for being such a cutie pie!

Dean can you email me please

Good luck with your puppy, i have two bulldogs, one thats eleven months (paris) and ones thats 5 months (oscar).
I like both the names i have, especially Paris because i you think about it its strange but good because we all no Bulldogs are big and clumsy but adorable and Paris is a place of elegance and beauty (two things that dont spring to mind when you think of a bulldog although they are gorgeous). I have a staffie called Bella which you said your thinking off, another name i think suits all bull breeds.
Bonzo, Fallman, Winston are all good for boys.
Chloe, Daisy, Dolly are all good for girls.

Er....I forget what the breeder affix is, it begins with a T, I will find it out and have a look. I know the grandparents, and ggparents are from the Aldridge line if that means anything to you...? I don't know much about pedigree's, but I know she will be loved and spoilt. I can't believe we are finally going to be Bulldog owners. :)

Oh thank you! I am missing her so much already, I want to kiss her little ears! :)
I might actually try to find a ringcraft/puppy training place near me. Even if I don't show, I know she will behave on a lead and be (sort of) obedient! :) :)
Does anyone know of any classes in the West Mids? Preferably around the Dudley/Oldbury/Halesowen/Stourbridge etc. area?

If you send me a pic of your little pup
I MIGHT send you details of some ringcraft classes ;-)
Is Lichfield too far? you could come and meet my Truly (bulldog )
