Just been to the vets and Dexters got acne! Its a Boxer thing apparently. He's been given some antibiotics and some Malaseb shampoo .... just wondering if members dogs have had this before and how long before it clears up - we've a show on Sunday!

Hi Dexy

Is it on his chin - if so wash and dry it after he has eaten as this also helps. Dobe people often use Hibiscrub to clean the area - I squeeze them and use Savlon as well as this seems to clear them faster but possibly not in 5 days unless they are very small

Hi thanks for the reply - yes he has 2 on chin but also some on muzzle. Oooh squeeze them - better get some protective glasses I remember what spots were like when I was a teenager! I'm interested to learn whether the spots will leave marks where they've been - don't want my boys good looks to be spoilt.

My bully has it near enough most of the time ! If you've a show in 4 days now go to the vets and buy some Fuciderm this really clears it up and keeps it at bay for a little while , but make sure that the skin is not broken before applying the cream , I personally have never been told by the vet to squeeze them though , theres no need to really and all it will do with cause the dog discomfort , HTH.
