We took Darcy out late last night, about 11pm because she is still (just finishing) in season, to try and avoid meeting any other people out with their dogs.
So we were more than surprised to get to the village green and be bombarded by two largeish terriers who immediately punced on Darcy and were trying to hump her.
I grabbed the two terriers by their collars and hauled them off while Stuart my boyf took Darcy to the other side of the park (she then proceeded to howl her head off which the residents must have loved!! )
THey both had collars on with the same phone number so I rang it and it just rang and rang. We waited ten minutes incase someone came looking for them but all to no avail. Someone walked past us and so we shouted over and asked if they recognised the dogs but they didnt.
We decided then there wasnt much we could do and so tried to wlak off but of course they followed. We didnt want them to get lost or run over and so decided to take them home with us but becasue they werent on lead and becasue they were continually trying to hump Darcy we ahd to carry them, and believe me they were not little dogs.
As we were walking off the bloke who had passed us before jogged up and said theres a lady on the corner up there calling for her dogs.
So we then carried them all the wya up the road when we got to the lady who said "Why are you carrying them, they would ahve come back I let them out every evening" So I replied that they wouldnt have come back because my bitch was in season and they were trying to follow us home! Then she said come on girls in you come!!
I was shocked and so said they're girls???? but they were trying to hump my bitch (it hadnt occurred to me to check because they were so interested in Darcy)
Oh yes they're both girls, they're both in season so they were probably feeling randy!!!!!
I was flabbergasted, she had let her 2 in season bitches just wander the streets by themselves.
I suggested that perhaps she might want to walk them on lead while in season and she just said oh no I always manage to sell the puppies!!!
Aaagh I was so angry my boyfriend had to drag me off!!!

The shere ignorance and complete lack of responsibility of some people never ceases to astound me.
I bet the two terrier bitches are pregnant twice a year. Too bad there is a ready market for the puppies, otherwise the owner might be motivated to do something responsible for them, like spaying if she is going to let them wander.

hiya,
seems to me that that women shouldnt be looking after any kind of dogs/animals, especially if she cant be bothered to even walk them.
what sort of a person just lets there dogs take themselves for a walk. what if the dogs got run over.
maybe a call to the rspca wouldnt go a miss, i dont think this women should be allowed to care for them, if she doesnt care where they go to at night.
im not sure about where you live, but where we are, there is alot of dog knapping going around, dogs have even been stolen from peoples back gardens.
This women is looking for trouble, especially as the dogs are bitches, thats what these people are looking for probably to start running puppy farms.
if i where you, i would have given her a good slap around the chops! :D

I agree. some people just dont give a s**t, you should definately tell the dog warden in your area, as the RSPCA probably wont go out, unless they are been neglected,
Have your muscles stopped aching yet Rachel ? Poor Darcy getting mobbed like that. That woman is the giddy limit.Im beginning to agree with Stephnmillie that some people are indeed born daft!
