hi am sure you are all familiar with the sad tale of our pup having to go back to the breeder. well it was agreed that they would find her a new home basically sell her on for us as they had refused to recompense us in any way. pup cost £400 plus all the trips of over 100 miles to see her collect her etc... we agreed that any vets bills would be paid for by us and we gave them at least 2 months worth of food and toys. i asked for £200 pounds from the new owner as although the pup had been injured she was recovering and we had been told there would be no lasting damage. so the new owner was getting a full pedigree beautiful bitch pup for £200 (her grand father won best of breed this year) the breeders then turned round to me and said they had given the new pup to their owner without telling me and that the new owner could not afford to pay for her so they would recompense me. this worried me as if they could not afford her then what else could they not afford! i asked them how much the vet bills had been and was told £15 so we agreed to take that off the 200. so they agreed to send me a cheque for £185. that was the end of october we have still not recieved anything. it is now the 17th nov. please could i have some advice as what the best action is to take from here. in hind sight we should never have bought from them as they advertise on epupz and it seems they are just breeding for the money even though they are not registered as breeders with the kennel club. but hind sight is a wonderful thing thanks for listening smotyn

Although it won't help you recoup your losses, I would let the Inland Revenue know that they are breeding dogs - they are always interested in people who are breeding dogs & assume that there is a profit to be made!
An Inland Revenue investigation might be sufficient to diffuse their enthusiasm about breeding dogs......
