How big is her crate? It should be big enough for her to stand up, sit, turn around and lay down. Is it nice and warm where her crate is? The reason why I ask is because Dozer would pee his kennel (he's 2 years old) and I found out why was because where I had his kennel the floor was cold. I felt awful, now I moved it and it's nice and warm I also have a comforter in their as well. Plus the other reason was because his kennel was too big, I now have a pillow and a box in their and its just right.

As for peeing in the house you could put her on a leash this way where ever you go so does she and you will be able to catch her in the act. If unable to watch her then kennel her. Do you take her out all the time, or do you wait for her to tell you? The reason why I ask is because she has to learn to let you no when she has to go and if you always do the thinking for her she will never tell you. Keeping her on the leash this way when you notice her about to squat, or do alot of sniffing, circling then take her to the door and say go outside go pee good girl praise/treat and keep her on leash outside and say go pee (or whatever word you use) repeat this word till she goes and alot of praise/treat when she does. Always take her to the same spot every time since the smell will be there and she will use this when she goes out on her own, it also helps to leave a poo there so she associates this with where she is to go. When you are able to give her free time off leash do this only after she has done her business outside and you are able to sit there and give her 100% of your time watching her.......I have housetrained Junior this way from 3 months on (I got him at 3 months) and it worked great, I only had to do it for a month and a half and he started to ask to go to the bathroom, he was having free time and would run to the door and jump on me then back to the door thats how I knew he had to go outside. It was great because I didn't have to keep him on leash that much till I was 100% sure he was going to ask everytime which he did. I was so proud of my little furbaby.

Is she in heat or is she spayed? Some females like to mark when they are coming or in heat.

Good luck :)

Hi Dollface erm her crates in our frontroom ,so nice and warm ,as for the size im not sure ,its about 2ft high by 4ft long she got alot of room /bed water bowl toys chewies the lot, i dont know if its too big? i let her out approx every hour, she dosnt tell you ,dosnt even sniff for a wee just sqwats and pees, usally in the kitchen where her paper was ,ill try the lead idea though ,thankyou for that .as for the other question ,she not in heat and were going to get her spayed after her first one so not spayed yet either . do you think i should put a pillow in hers? to make it a little smaller because she can lie flat out and still not touch either end?? thankyou for your advice Dani

The kennel should only be big enough for her to stand, sit, turn around and lay down and no bigger. If she still has plenty of room after that then it gives her room to mess at one end and stay dry at another. What I did with Dozer was put a pillow behind a box to make it smaller and now he is dry (if a box will fit and give her just enough room to do all that stuff then thats all you will need, mine was still too big with just a box thats why I put a pillow behind it). His kennel is big enough to fit a german shepherd and him being a boston terrier way way to much room for him. We could leave and be gone for only an hour to come back to a wet kennel but since I did that it has worked no more wet days/nights. I am planning on getting a smaller kennel for him, I'm going to take him to the pet store and get him to try out some kennels so I can see which would fit him best.

Could she be drinking to much with the water bowl in there? You could try a water bottle like the ones they have for rabbits all you have to do is put something tasty on the end like peanut butter or something to get her to learn how to drink from it. This way she isn't able to drink lots while she is in her kennel but can still get some water.

If she is still squating where her paper was then the smell is still there which is bringing her back to the same spot.

Hope this helps some, yes her kennel is way to big if she still has plenty of room even when she is laying flat out.
Good luck :)

Edit: you said that she would use the paper, take a wet paper that she has gone on and take that outside where you want her to go....this has worked with some dogs. Just put some rocks or something on it to hold it down so it doesn't fly away and give her the command word you use for her to go.
