hI, peeeps I thought this may be of interest to some of you having read many of the postings.
We have waited 8 years to get the right bitch and right dog that we are happy to breed with. I mention this only to let you imagine how important this is to us and that we would go to any lengths to get it right and give our girl the best possible chance. We are hopeing for a small to medium healthy litter and to keep them all ! .
We mated our Jaz having tested for ovulation using progesterone levels
( lots of reading abouth this made us think it a good idea)
Then we spoke to our vet who said that she had a 20,000 pound colour scannner which wsas better than the morm and could show blood running through a heart. She offered to perform an early scan at 3 weeks to see how it could detect any changes for her and our experience. Since Jaz loves the vets and there is no risk at all we jumped at the chance and of course a freebie from the vet is a very rare thing :)
The vets interpretation of the scan was that at least one embryo was embedded and surrounded by a large roundish fluid filled area and i have to say it was rather obvious. Yipeeee i thought at least a chance here.
WE then went back for a more normal week 5 scan ( day 35 post ovulation)
and this was very inconclusive and to be honest does not look promising.
Our vet has booked us in for a week 7 scan ( theyre not free anymore) and of course they have hooked us in now and are making money. I dont want to sound crass but the cost is irelevant but I am now very sceptical as to be honest we have all read od vets getting this wrong much of the time. We have decided to use a person who is recommended by many top breeders who comes to your home and alledgedly never gets it wrong !!!!
Will let you know what happens re that
yours Mas ( aka cravemoor's hubby)
