Hi Does anyone know how long it takes to receive kc papers? I bought my lab pup 12 weeks ago,and no sign of the papers yet. I phoned the breeder 4 weeks ago,and she said as soon as she gets them she will post them on. i phoned this morning again, but her husband said he didnt know if any had arrived yet,and I was to phone back on Monday.I thought I should have had them by now.

id of thought so too, if youve got the pedigree there, ring the kc and give them the sire and dams details and check theyve had an application to register a litter, -good luck, --hopefully its genuine,

The Kennel Club has had some delays due to the postal strike but I agree with Dizzy phone the Kennel Club if you can.Gillian

If you know the breeders affix and the exact birth date you can check with the KC that she did actually register a litter then.
If she has registered them and you can provide the registered name of your pup, the KC can send you a form 6 that you fill in and you take it to the breeder for her to sign.
Hope that is some help.
regards,
linda

Mine have taken 2 weeks even during the postal problems, ideally there is no reason why they should not be back before the pup is sold to a new owner. Some breeders are full of C**P!!

have just looked at pedigree. Most ancestors are Ramsayville and Konoboly.Sires parents are Ramsayville Rainbows End (CH) and Trentwith Ailsa. Dams are Konoboly Just Dandy and Fernie lea No KC name or number on pedigree.
What redress do I have if they are not KC registered,as they were advertised as being so. Sire is Aiket Sand Man and Dam is Doonvalley Molly(Doonvalley is the name of the farm she operates from)

Contact your local Trading Standards for advice.
The absence of Reg. no.s is not necessarily significant, not many breeders fill in all the details on a pedigree form, as long as the names are accurate, there isn't normally a problem.
Not familiar with Lab pedigrees, someone else can answer that better, tho' Konoboly rings a bell.

As Dizzy said, contact the KC asap, all they need is the Sire and Dams registered names (which should be the names on your pedigree). Lots of breeders dont put parents KC numbers on pedigrees, so I wouldnt panic too much about that aspect. Whilst the KC are now reallly speedy in registrations turn around compared to how they used to be (I had one back within a week) it has also take me 9 months to succesfully register another litter!

Helen it was actually in the dog papers that the KC had been affected by the postal strike so maybe it also depends on what part of the country you are in.However I do agree that it is less likely to be due to that the longer it takes and thats why I agreed with Dizzy and said the poster should contact the Kennel club if she could.Gillian

I've been waiting just over two weeks to get my KC papers back after sending off the registration for my litter.  I know that I was slow in sending it in the first place as it took us ages to sort names out.  I gave each person who had a pup a "letter" saying that KC Registration papers were to follow and explained to them that I had sent them off and they would get them in due course, along with a receipt for the money they had paid.

I guess for some people with a big litter they will wait until they get some money from pups before sending application off perhaps?  Not ideal but .....!

Was the litter advertised as KC Registered?  Trading standards may be able to help.  I would also suggest a recorded delivery letter to the breeder.
