I know there must be a rescue club for shih zhu in Northern California. I live in Brentwood Calif. and am looking to rescue one of these adorable darlings or possibly a small lhasa apso. I just lost my lhasa recently and she was only 4 yr. old. She was 19 lb. and I really would prefer a smaller dog but in the same breed category. 4-6 lb. would be great but would be willing to love up to a 10-15 lb. if the quality is right. Mellow is good. My dog was not a barker and I liked that about her. She had many other good qualities, but was a little hyper.I am a mature woman who lives alone, but I do still work. I don't have any other pets.
