Just to let you know, that after a week of medication Bree is a lot brighter, not quite so wobbly, and generaly enjoying her twilight years :) She is eating well and loves her doggie treats too.
She was back at the vets yesterday, and he seemed pleased with her progress, although he did say this could be a plateau, and she could still go down-hill; She has 10 days of tablets to take then back to the vets, we are also considering acupuncture, so any advice will be greatly appreciated :)
Thank you again for your support :)

Glad that Bree is progressing so well Liberty - Purdey is an absolute MENACE at the moment - a large labrador wearing a Buster collar is not to be trifled with, when she decides that yes, today she will go out with the Aussies!!
She too has picked up a bit - having fun getting one of her tablets into her - she carefully hides it in her dewlaps, I think, then spits it out - into the said Buster Collar!! Sometimes it takes 4 goes to get it down - and this is the one that isn't taken with food - so no disguising it!!
I'm £315 the poorer - but rich in that we shill have our beloved old girl with us :D

hI Margot :) I'm so pleased to hear that Purdey is doing so well :)
I'll keep everything crossed that this continues. as well as my old girl, who seems to be 'doing ok' at the moment.
Sending good wishes to all our oldies, and those in need of our thoughts:)

HI Liberty
Glad to gear Bree is feeling better, I seem to have missed such alot during my not all together distinguished foray in to computer building, my internet time is very much hit and miss at the moment.
I don't know if any one has suggested it, but have you tried a hot water bottle wrapped in an old towel, we had a little X breed who was very old and she liked a hot water bottle on her joints little Tess, was according to my Mom 21 when we had to have her PTS, but I'm not sure about that, my Mom's memory is like my internet connection"IFFY" at the best of times.
By the way my address book didn't survive the change from steam driven adding machine to 21st century speed demon, so if any one who knows me would like to send me an email, I'd be grateful, I would of course understand if you take the chance to cut all ties with me :(

Hi Robert :)
Good to see you back here! Bree is ticking along at the mo, her medication seems to agree with her, although I have to be realistic because of her age, I've got everything crossed that she'll , <get a second wind> so to speak.
Still hope to meet up around the New Year!!
