Sorry, but i feel the need to boast! I'm so proud of my girls, today my 7 month old retriever passed her Bronze kennel club good citizens award and my 21 month old border collie passed her silver! I really didn't think they would pass but they did and i love them to pieces!!! Ellie the retriever never ceases to amaze me as she passed her puppy foundation, our own clubs foundation and the bronze in two months!
Right now they are the most intelligent dogs in the world!
Sorry to brag! ;-p

Let me be the first to give you and your girls a pat on the back! Seven months is very young (it seems to me) to achieve so much. Well done to you all you are right to be proud.

Congratulations to you all :O) Now I have to ask just what exactly is it. I need to get my 4 month lab pup started on some sort of training

Its an award scheme run by the kennel club that ensures that dogs possess all the skills needed to be a good citizen dog.Its either run as a specific course or as a continuous thing, which is what i do. We go to training classes every week and do basic obedience training. The bronze is things such as recall, gate control, walking on a loose lead, grooming, a 1 min stay e.t.c. The silver goes a bit further doing stuff like road walking, food manners, getting in and out of the car in control, 2 min stay e.t.c. The gold looks impossible with walking to heel off lead outside and distance control which i will never achieve! Its good fun and lots of training clubs work towards this scheme. It adds an extra incentive. :-)
