Hi Coleen, I think it's Christine that you're looking for. I don't think she has her email addy on her profile, but I'm sure she'll post here, when she sees' this :)

Hi Christine,

I have been contacted by an English Lady in the Bilbao area, Well the dog is in that area, so she must live close by., but transport is not a problem She is looking for help with a young gundog E Setter who has Leishmaniaisis, she wants to treat him, and is asking if anyone has any contacts she might try. I think that funding or help with funding towards his treatment is possible. Her view is, that so far he has had a not good life with his previous owner, and he deserves some 'good time' if that is at all possible rather then just being put to sleep. She is fully aware of Leish, as I am, and she is not looking to send him to any other Country. Likes she wrote, we live and have to accept this disease here, as there is no vaccination and as countless dogs already have the disease and live normal lives once on the medication, then she wishes to explore any avenue she can for this dog.

I do not even know what area in Spain you live Christine, but said I would explore all avenues to see if I can help this person and the dog.

I can send her email (off list) if you have any ideas or contacts.

Thanks
Coleen

Hi Coleen, I`m in San Roque, literally the other side of Spain. I don`t see any need for him to be pts at all & she should go ahead with the treatment, she shouldn`t have to much bother finding a vet who`ll treat him, poor thing. What sort of contacts would you like, is it for the treatment or what kind of treatment to use? Different vets use different ones but the one my vet uses he has a good success rate with but it`s very drawn out, injections for the first 14dys of every mth for at least 6mths, tabs & vits. There is also a danger of side effects from injections but I think it`s worth the risk.
I`ll email you now & you can ask her to get in touch with me & i`ll see what I can do :)

Christine, Spain.
Ooops your emails hidden:) so here`s mine
just edited to remove my addy.
