This is so wrong. I don't understand why these people weren't punished. Please go to this site. It will help you to understand why I am so upset.

I have read the link and think that this is appalling, even to the extent of useing the email facility to contact the govener so they can see that people from not just America have heard of what has taken place, and hope it should never happen again

that has just made me feel sick, and can't understand why NO action was taken against the two officers:mad: it just makes me so sad to think that, that could happen just when he was doing what he was told and trained to do:(

It's shocking. :(
I can understand that they might not have noticed his badge in the heat of the moment but if they come across a situation with a dog that is a breed they use in the police why aren't they trained to shout the release command first. Also if the dog was right next to the girl then surely 11 shots was putting the girl in more danger than a dog would cause.

Sleep well Git Ander.

That is disgusting and sadly goes to show what happens when police carry arms all the time. ARe they that bad a shot they had to shoot the dog 11 times? As someone else has said the fact that the dog had hold of the girl shows how close they were shooting to someone they believed they were trying to save. In this country the police probably would have just grabbed the dog by its collar!

Jesse,

No, in this country someone would have called the police and there would have been none available.

Why would anyone get a dog to chase a 12 yr old girl?? ok so she was in the car but i can honistly see how the accident happened with the other officers. its the handlers fault. i very much doubt a 12 yr old kid would get very far . it was probably the older 18 yr olds sister

That's a very sad story - poor animal. Surely shooting the dog 12 times is a bit excessive - and not in the little girls best interests either
The policemen should have called the release word, but hindsight is a great commodity.

If you read on in the page the police shot 18 times. Not 11. Which is even more crazy and dangerous in my books.
