to moving into our new house for xmas :(
Few of you already know that we startedbuilding a new house back in April & everything has been falling into place for the last 6wks or so & it realyy loked like we would be in for xmas. I`ve been taking things day by day, deciding where I wanted all the lights & leccy points going, which tiles I wanted & all the fine details, but today had tell myself that its not going to happen & I`m really really disappointed :(
Can`t blame anyone, the builders have been great, here 5dys a week 7.45am till 6pm, letting me know when machines/deliveries are coming/finished so I can get me dogs out but we aint going to be in there this yr!
Been out earlier to finalise kitchen design & stopped of for a drink on the way back when I had a brain wave
Have already bought the major things but told hubby I`m not buying nowt else......going to wait & get loads of bargains in the new year sales!!!!! :D That way we`ll save loads won`t we????? He just doesn`t understand how I try to save money  & try to make the most of things!!!
He was very ....hmmmmmm wonder why ;) :D

Hi Christine
In my profession what you are doing is called 'positively reframing' ! ;)
It's a great coping mechanism that we women are good at and just means making the best of a bad situation. I admire your outlook - keep with it !!! :D

God Christine i wish i had your outlook ;) i have cried till the cows come home!!
We are moving to the other side of the country so i think i'd got used to saying my goodbyes etc. but now it's just been put off !!
Agonising! Plus alot of things are boxed, and i'm dreading putting the xmas tree up here as i wanted it to be there .....boo hoo.

Rub some of your 'positively reframing' on me would ya!

Well Sarah maybe you`ll have to cry till Dick docks, so now you`re goin to have to find out who Dick is & when & where he docked & by the time you`ve done that you`ll have forgotten why you`re cryin :) Lots of my stuff is boxed as well & we`re only moving 2 dozen paces away  So one minute its all tidy then I just have to have something & everythings dragged all out & looks like a jumble sale when it`s finished!!!!!
So what the heck......sit down sob your heart( it won`t change things but you might feel more determined) then kick your brain into gear [$ find a way to make the best of what you have right now :D Takes a lot of practice but it does work ]) honestly :)

Oooohhh I just love those fancy soundin titles don`t you??? :D sound great don`t they :)!!!!!
Truth is I`ve no other choice ;)
Besides, shed buckets full of tears when my daughter underwent major surgery the day before my first bred puppy died aged 6yrs the following day, 5th & 6th Sept respectively.

There`s a reason for everything.... ;) just wish someone could give me a clue beforehand instead of always being so clever after the fact!!!! :D Thats my wish to have hindsight before looking back....oh but maybe not cos then I`d be such a smart alex I`d be even more unbearable to live with

Christine and Sarah, :)
Positive thinking is hard to do but it does work :) and the more you do it the easier it gets. SO, (Christine's started already but)start with the fact that you've both found each other so you can have a good moan/laugh about it together and as long as you've not got your computers in boxes and can get on here what else matters. :D (apart from tea and biccies, wine, chocolate, dogs! etc..)

Good thinking about the sales Christine ;) your hubby should be proud of you. :D :D

Love your way of thinking Christine :) there's only a woman can have brainwaves like that......"buying in the January sales" ;)
All the money you'll save, all the fun you'll have spending.....excellent !! Altho with all the bargains about, I imagine you'll end up spending more.......I know I do ;)
- By Christine Date 11.11.03 16:13 UTC
Oooo I`m so glad you all liked my idea of hitting the Jan. sales :) kath I`m not sure proud is the way hubbys thinking at the moment, could be because he knows what I`m like if I think theres a bargain or 2 to be had :D
Steph ssshhhh I`ll not be spending more I`ll be saving cos things will be cheaper in the sales won`t they??? ;)

Sarah how you feeling now?? I thought I was the only one this happening to till I posted last night, it was nice to know I was not the only one feeling so fed up about the same thing:) Hope your a bit more cheered up now & my positive vibes have rubbed off :)

Christine,

I love your way of thinking!!

After two years, I'm still waiting to move into my 200 year old cottage......and STILL, there's loads to do (like I haven't got a bathroom in there yet!)
We're living in a caravan, it's a 12 berth, so big enough for just hubby and me, and I'm quite used to living in it now.....not so much housework!!
I do get a bit down sometimes though....I just want it all finished.

Oh well, never mind...in that time we've got the kennels done, so the dogs are happy....suppose that's all that matters!

We'll get there in the end eh?!!

Take care

Hi Gina, so true! :) The way time whizzes by it`ll be no time at all really & it`ll be so sweeter getting more for my money at the sales. Mind I`ve been saving all yr & I`m itching to spend it now but I`ll just have to be patient a while longer :)

Hi Lisa, thats what we`re moving out of!!!!! Not too sure ours could be called a cottage tho, it used to be used to house the pigs & chicken  We had it renovated before we moved in but it`s got a real damp problem & it just seems to eat money, no mater how much we put into it it wants more!!!
I`m sure yours will be different tho.... when it`s finished & then you`re gonna have to get used to doing housework :D I love your bit about no housework to do :D
Mind the strain is begining to tell, I developed a an abcess in my gum yesterday & I`ve never had one in my life before, it burst last night but the side of my face is still swollen this morning :( so guess I`d better start taking some supps.
