Hello

I looked through my sisters film collection yesterday and i come across an oldish John Travolta film called The Tender, which was about a Doberman that had been dumped after being used in dogfighting, its also about his daughter in the film that finds the dog and nurses it back to health, and what a great tear jerker it was.
Paiges are See Spot Run (i howl with Paige every time we watch it), Turner and Hooch, Homeward Bound, Shiloh, Snow Dogs, and last but not least Cats and Dogs. What are your favorites?

Mine have to be the Lassie films, I blub everytime I watch one, Old Yella, The Incredible Journey, 101 Dalmations, and although it was never made into a film, a book I read over and over again called Ajax the Warrior by Mary Elwyn Patchett (??). It's a true story about life on an Australian Cattle station around the early 1900's with her Dingo x which she rescued in the bush:)

liberty :)

Edited to add, it was a sheep farm, not cattle........well I was about 12yr the last time I read it

Mine is called "Mans best friend" it is a fantastic film with a number of dogs playing a Tibetan Mastiff the escapes from a research Lab, wish I owned some of those that played that one dog they were fantastic and so true to type you could not say where one left of and another took it's place

Hi,

One of my favorites is Old Yella. But I agree Lassie films always make me cry especially the old one with Elizabeth Tayor.

Another Idon't know what it's called an old film though about a boy living in the backwoods of America (south) and he saves up and buys two "blue blood" coon hounds.
The story follows the boy growing up with his dogs, training them to hunt. Both dogs die in the end fighting off a Mountain lion who attacks the boy. (I think that's right)

Liberty - is that the original Incredible Journey (circa early 60's) I loved that. Can't really think of any others. But my own video of Tess's litter from birth to 8 weeks takes a lot of beating.
