Exactly the same has just happened here - a bloody great rocket thing, banging right over the house whilst my girls were outside. One has always been terrified, and she has just been mated. Her daughter never bothered before but bolted down the garden and was afraid to come back near the house. Now they are both under the desk, panting and shaking. I am shaking with anger!!!

Hi cup cake, :)
do a search on here for "fireworks" and you'll find lots of info as there are so many people and their dogs having the same problem.

This morning I went to the culprits house - there are no children who live there - and was not surprised there was no answer - either in bed or hiding! I was prepared for that, and put a note through the door asking for more consideration and that if they must set off fireworks on nights other than the 5th to let us know - they are aware we have dogs. If I had written what I would have liked to have said, I'd probably be prosecuted. :D

Fillis i know just how you feel - i too have been shaking with anger when bangers were let off at midday near us!

Luckily we are not usually too bad in this area, but it has seemed worse this year.

DAP diffusers seem to reallly help. They work best after about 10 days but ours had a calming effect after about 3 days. Also try the www.soundsscary.com CD in an attempt to desensitise in time for next year.

MInd you, we have new year to cope with next!
