What is the chance of our family finding a middle-aged cocker?
We live in Cambridge and our previous (rescued) cocker died in the summer.

Go to Kennel Club for a list of Cocker breed clubs. If you phone round the Clubs, they should be able to let you know. They should also be able to give you contacts for Cocker Rescue.
