hi can some 1 please answer my ? why cant a staffordshire bull terrier be left alone with cats even it is a puppy 6-8 weeks y can it not be left in a room with the cats even when it is grown up i have owned several breeds of dogs over the years with as many cats and have all got on fine but never owned a sbt so i would like to hear from some 1 who as cats and sbt y they can not and must not be left alone together not all dogs are the same i would just like to know what prove there is they cant b left together or as every 1 been reading the papers to much so if you own a staff and a cat i would like to hear your advice

We own 4 cats and a sbt i leave all my cats alone with her they all love her to bits one sleeps in her basket most of the time,she play fights with them,she has been brought up with them and we've never had a problem,don't believe everthing you read as people are only to quick to put sbt's down,If you give me your email address i will email you pics!! they are a very trust worthy breed if socilised with other dogs,cats and children they're nick name is the nanny dog!!

My cat and Staffy are fine together - I just have to watch because he wants to PLAY with Noodle the cat all the time ;)

Hi,
I've had cats and Staffs living in harmony for the over 20 years with no problem. At the moment I have one Staff who's almost 1 and two cats who are 21. The pup is much to bosterious for the cats at their age but never have any probelms. Common sense being the key.

My staffies get on fine with my cats.. infact charlie sleeps with the cat, he washes her and ets her eat from his dish.

Yep you read right 21.

And they have lived with Staffords since they were kittens.

Staffords are like all dogs I would say guest the way you treat them is what you get back 100 fold in the case of the Stafford.

There have been lots of questions about staffs and cats in the visitors board this past few days - has there been something in the news I've missed :?

They are great dogs and so long as you spend the time introducing them to cats when they are puppys there's no reason at all why they can't be together :D
