Hello and good morning -
the cardi litter is mine. Pups are currently with the veterinary nurses, while I try to locate a foster mum. If there is anyone nearby who has experience hand rearing, and is willing to help, please contact me. I have had the offer of a Lapphund bitch in Surrey - is there anyone who could help with transport of pups to bitch if neccessary? I've also heard rumour of a dobe bitch who lost her litter.
I live in Woodford Halse, midway between Banbury and Daventry, off the A361.

Hi, I am so sorry to hear your news. I am the one with the dobie bitch who lost her litter but I live in Alberta Canada. I think that might be a little far away. I tried finding a litter of puppies or kittens for my bitch when she lost her pups, I contacted all the pounds and shelters near by. But thank goodness nobody has abondoned a litter. I hope you can find someone to help you. I am really sorry I am so far away.

Good news!
With major thanks to Beverly and Roger Foreman and (not least their flatcoat bitch Rowan) we have a foster mum!
I was there for two feeds and she accepted those pups very nicely, and has reared a litter of 10 of her own in the past.
Hopefully things will continue to improve.
many thanks to everyone for their thoughts and offers for hand-rearing assistance.
And to those wonderful calling and email chains,
an exhausted Eileen in Northants who now must go calm her male dog while the fireworks blast off nearby

Rowan won't leave them for more than a few minutes and sleeps at the door waiting to go back and check up on them, So far so good lets hope the best for the next few days.

Great news! Fingers crossed all will now be well.
:)
What wonderful news Eileen, I've been following this thread with fingers and toes crossed. I'm even more chuffed that it's a flattie that has helped out, sincerely hope that things will continue to improve.

PupDate:
Bev and Roger and Rowan are not getting a lot of sleep. They are doing a fantastic job. I went up there this afternoon. The pups are holding their own, and have kept their weight as a lot over the past 24 hours... down a few grams here, up a few there, but in general holding steady, which is amazing and wonderful, considering what they have been through. All are suckling. None look 'puny' or poorly.
Please keep Bev and Roger and their son and dogs in your thoughts, as well as my pups - everyone needs it.
Thank you , one and all.
Eileen

Hello,
Just had a look at the litter and I must say they all look happy enough isn't their "foster" mum a nice contented bitch. Always a good sign I think of a litter doing well.
Pleased it worked out it.
Karen
The pictures are lovely Eileen, and Rowan looks very contented with her new family. Have got everything crossed that everything goes well for all involved, and the pups continue to make good progress :)

Hi all. well I am up at 3am of course. Whelping box put in study this time so i have access to computer. Rowan is doing well and is so attentive to the pups. She was having a phantom so although she has some milk we have not got gallons yet. The pups are all still vigorous, latching on well. We are only seeing very small weight gains of 5 or 10 grams. Have put Rowan on higher protein and much more rations and giving her dilute puppy formula to drink so hopefully milk production will increase soon, if not we may have to supplement them. It would be nice to see an ounce or two of weight gain each day shortly. Bev.
