Just wanted to say that Gus is finally starting to sprout out at the age of 13 months and although he still looks puppyish he is holding his own now in Junior classes against much heavier dogs
He was given a 3rd place today from 14 by a judge that has a dog with the most CC's for his breed :)

Lesley
just wanted to say I found the information you sent for my assignment very useful - just awaiting my marks back from my tutor ( fingers crossed) ;)

Lots of people mentioned that maturing too fast and too young wasnt always a good thing and I think I was a bit downhearted a the time as Gus used to look so small compared to the others but hes had a couple of decent results of late in large classes so thanks for everyones advice

You're very welcome Lesley, hope you get a good mark!

Our younger dog is taking an absolute age to mature, and we have a long way to go yet :) He went in the ring 3 times as a puppy, but has been out of the ring for over a year now:( Never mind, he's an absolute sweetie and we wouldn't have him any other way!

Well done Lesley. Anton my young lad is very slow maturing and boy do I wish he's put some weight on. He was just starting to when the girls came in season.

I also think that once he passes 12 months he'll look lovely, fingers crossed. Keep up the good work. Are you at any other north west shows in the next couple of months? I may just see you at some.

Regards.

Well done Lel!
I wish Buster would hurry up! He's all shoulders with small head and skinny legs just now!! He's 13 months old too, but I have heard that it can take upto 2 years for them to fill out properly. Here's hoping!!

Sarah
Gus still has LOADS of growing to do still. When I mention sprouting its because he was always the smallest in the class and seemed to be looked over in favour of others.
He is still lean and leggy I suppose but hopefully the judges can recognise that everything is there and where it should be :)
do you have any photos Sarah ??

Hi Lel,
If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send you some photos. Sarah@torranvell.freeserve.co.uk. I'd love to see some of Gus.
Buster looks like "Champion Gentleman Jim" (1930s Staffy) just now!!
