Hi,Just visited a site showing all the colours that are possible in Dalmations. This may be a stupid question but i am going to ask it anyway. Why is only black and white and liver and white is allowed by the Kc??Whats wrong with say the lemon and whites??Why are not these allowed or are there plans to allow them??.Do breeders use the other colours for breeding or is this a definate no no??..there are quite a few colours and i think they are great and it is a shame they are not allowed...Thanks
You need Jeangenie for this one, she's just popped into the nearest phone-box to put her JG Dalmation Super-woman cape on :D

Hi,
Lots of breeds have unacceptable colours, so there's nothing unusual there. Only blacks and livers are acceptable for showing or breeding. The lemons, oranges, blues, brindles, tris etc are simply pets. They can be registered (and endorsed) but there are absolutely no plans to upgrade them.
:)
Wow!! That was quick :) you don't hang around JG :)

Thanks for your answer..What do you mean by endorsed??Does it mean breeders use theses colours in there breeding programs??Thanks

No, 'endorsed' means that any pups that people might produce from them cannot be registered. No reputable breeder will have them in a breeding programme.
You were too quick for me JG :D

Keep the cape on, there's another Dal question for you :)
Mmmm, sounds serious JG, still spinning ?? Well there's only one cure, now brace yourself................ Dr Liberty reccommends a LARGE
Gin and Tonic, with lots of ice, sip gently, then repeat as required :D
