I have a Kodak easyshare digital camera. The batteries that came with it are AA camera batteries which did not last long. Can i use ordinary AA batteries instead of camera batteries. How long do these batteries usually last in these cameras. Thanks

You would be best using re-chargable batteries :)

Jean, I've got a Kodak Easyshare that I use with a Kodak Easyshare Camera Dock which came complete with a Rechargeable battery pack.
As well as making downloading very easy, the Dock also recharges the battery pack. :)

Hi i have an easyshare camera too and only the lithium ones work on mine and they last ages for me and i'm always using it. I think they cost £10.

p.s I got my camera just before last Christmas and i'm only on my second battery. (Just avoid using the screen viewfinder thingy as that uses more power)

The reason i ask is because we got the camera in august hardly used it , went on hols for two weeks sept,the batteries ran out during the first week. I thought the batteries would have lasted a bit longer.

Digital cameras are known to literally eat batteries. I bought a different make of camera, and the original batteries lasted two days, and it took four.

This item was sent back when it developed a fault and I bought the easy share one.

You really need to get rechargeable batteries and keep a set charged with you.

I have the CX6200, and the original batteries lasted a week. Buy good rechargeable NHIMH ones and they will last a decnt length of time. I had bought 8 for the last camera so have 3 sets of spare AA size ones now.

I am really pleased with this camera as it is very easy to use for a partially sighted person like me. Minimum of fiddly bits and very clear menus.

I have the cx4200 and i have honestly only used 2 batteries in over a year, and i sell loads on ebay and constantly snapping away at my daughter and dawg!

I found that if I left the batteries in the camera when not being used that they didn't last long. Don't know why this is so but I now take them out every time I finish using the camera.

I've got a Sony Cybershot DSC-P10 5.0 Megapixels, I use the view finder all the time and have only charged the battery three times since July and I do use it a lot with the kids and dogs!
