we have just bought a dogue da bordauex bitch,shes 14 months old but looks a bit thin someone said tripe was good for putting weight on is this the best thing to give her? also her coat is very long is this because shes been kept outside in the cold or is this just the way she is?,every ddb ive seen has a short coat.

I've never seen a DDB with a long coat, there are a few owners on here so hopefully one of them will be able to help you soon.

how do you mean long ?like a sheepdog or semi long like a retriever are you sure shes not a cross? long haired and thin? all the young bordeoux's i've seem body wise remind me of a lioness.

I know that dogs kept outside usually develop a thicker coat, but never a longer coat.

I would suspect that you've been 'sold a pup' as the saying goes.
