my friend has just told me her 16 week old pup has been losing a small amount of bloody discharge ,she asked my advice on this but i am no expert can anyone help. can this be normal or do you think a trip to the vet is the answer thanks

if it were me i would take the pup to the vet if it is unexplained bleeding.

Bloody discharge from what part of her body?

If it is with poo, she probably has a touch of gastritis, possibly colitis or an infection of some sort.

If it is from her vagina, she may have come into season early. Four months would be unusual, but not impossible. She might also have a vaginal infection.

If the blood is from her urinary track, she might have a bladder infection.

In all cases .. trip to the vet is in order.
