Jazz is sat at the side of me crying because he wants to go out to play with the fireworks!!. I know I am very lucky to have adog that likes fireworks but after reading the story of the pup I dont want him to go out. He has now gone to the window to have a look!!. I must agree with the majority of you though, I too think fireworks should be banned/organised displays only. Thinking of you all and your dogs
Michelle:)
Poor Jazzy woo
My poor cat is hiding under the bottom step of our open plan stairs and is not happy.
They should ban fireworks cept at public displays. Its the annimals I feel sorry for.

well, atleast jazz isnt scared by the fireworks! you are lucky. My dogs have mixed opinions on them; but my cats are snoozing away as if it were a sunny sunday! doesnt bother them in the least.

I'm having the same problem michelle :) max (my yorkie) is going mad to get outside, he keeps running round the garden jumping in the air and barking...i think he thinks the fireworks are something to play with :D strange
Hi Jacki
I'm glad its not just Jazz who thinks its a game

jazz and bella must be alike then:D im glad shes not scared shes driving me mental to go out , shes been let out a couple of times and i went to get her shes sat on the lawn staring up. i might take her for a short walk , i look at her not being scared as a good point and i think i should encourage her not to be scared , by acting normal doing her normal things.
Im on a hill and you can see alot of the city , shes been sat on top of my chair for 2 hours watching them :)
Oh bless her! Jazz has resorted to the next best thing football. I also see it as a very good point that they're not scared. Jazz is frightened of other everyday things so I am really proud of him. I feel really sorry for the poor animals who are frightened. I have just seen a man walking past with a greyhound that looks absolutely petrified and its like bosnia round here at the moment. Why put a dog or any other animal through all that stress when they are clearly frightened. How old is Bella? do you have any other dogs/animals?

Bella's just turned 2 . shes got a thing for flashy lights and sparkley things :D i think that might have helpted.
If my dog was scared i would keep it inside in a quite room .
I have another called beau hes 4 hes fine with the fireworks to we got both from the same breeder, and they both were treated the same where firework night came when they were pups i think its made a difference with them:) i have two cats 16 and 17 yrs old and zillion fish .my gerbil just died , but he was nearly 5 so i supose thats a good age.
Have you any other animals?
I just have Jazz at the moment, we are looking to getting him a friend probably in the new year. I would also like a tortoise but partner not keen. If I had my way I would have a zoo!! What breed is Bella and Beau?

Tell ur parner i say hes a meanie if he dosent let you have one , There so slow he wont even know its there:D
Both our cats run and open the cupboard under the sink at the first sign of fireworks so we've got a little blanket in there for them now, but luckily our pup isn't bothered at all. Its our wedding aniversary on the 5th of November and we thought we'd have to stay in with our pup but as he was fine he came to the pub with us and slept on the floor all night even though it sounded like a war zone outside.
Cheers
Steve
we normally bring our dogs in 2 at a time last night 4 were in PANDEMONIUM!!!but they felt safe so that is all that matters.
