How did it go? The first few times can be a bit daunting (for both pup and human friend). Some pups take to it as if they'd been doing it all their lives - like my Chance. Others take a bit longer - like his brothers, Moss and Mitch. :D

Hi Jim took Amy she was just coming round when a rottwieller thought to start barking & Amy got a bit scared so that was the end or that. She is only 13 wks & not at all keen to be leashed she keeps sitting down maybe we could do with some tips please. Jim will take her again next wk

Hi Jean. At the moment just be patient with her. It's all new and confusing, but so long as it's fun she'll be ok. :) Dogs barking is something she'll get used to, eventually. After all, dogs do bark at shows and it can echo in a large hall. All part of the learning. Don't worry if she doesn't want to move at first. Few pups do. They are too interested in everything that's going on. :D

Hi LindyLou Amy and I have been in the garden on & off today with the leash we can but try eventually she will get the message. She has been a bit frightened with the noise tonight the telly has been up loud to try & hide the noise of the fireworks. We have always had dogs but for some reason i feel I am being over protective this time. I will let you know how things go next week Thanks Jean

Just take things slowly is my advice, even if when they get to classes they just sit and watch for a while, this will help your puppy relax and get use to the nosies other dogs make.
I have a puppy who i have only taken to ringcraft twice, the second time was on Monday and like your puppy, she was a bit on edge with all the dogs especially the ones barking and whineing, but after the first 10mins she totally relaxed and by the end of the 45minsm she was doing her stuff (standing, teeth and moving like she'd been doing it years).
So just take it slow and enjoy.
Karen.
