can anyone tell me if there are any shows in the midlands after LKA?

What kind ?
The kennel club do a booklet called the Kennel Gazette
that lists every show in date order.
There is one on 1st Jan at Coventry,

The newsagents can order the kennel gazette for you it costs 2 pound comes out monthly.
You can subscribe to it for 12 pound a year too.

there the worcester & malvern open show 3 Jan at Three Counties show ground. Open show at Telford though Im not sure its the Midlands on 21st dec. Open at Worcester on 27th Dec, are they any good to you. Let me know what dog you have & if your interested Ill see if there is a class. Email me if you want

The show in Coventry is a premier open show and I'm pretty certain there are several classes for golden retrievers (think this makes it a possible Crufts qualifier). The closing date is 24.11.03 and contact number for Coventry ladies kennel society is 02476-712552.
There's also a Christmas open show in Newark on 7th December (Sleaford & District Canine society), closing date 14th November, contact number 01673-858044 (Mr Terry). There are 5 classes for golden retriever bitch and the same amount for dogs.
You can find a lot of open and champ shows on 'prodogs'. Hope this helps.

You really need to buy one or other of the canine weeklies, they are Our Dogs and dog World, and will have to be ordered specially by your newsagent, or you can subscribe.

I would order both say for 6 weeks and decide which one you prefer, as they ahve similar content but are a bit different in style. All the shows are advertised in these.

You are very fortunate3, as the Midlands is best area to be in for shows!

As mentioned above try the dog papers or Kennel Gazette I subscribe to KG I didnt know you could get it from the news agent might try that once subs have run out.
