I HAVE SEEN AN ADVERT FOR A LITTER OF PEDIGREE BLACK LABS THAT ALL HAVE A WHITE DIAMOND ON THEIR CHESTS, ARE THEY LIKELY TO BE PEDIGREE OR CROSSED WITH ANOTHER BREED?

My Uncle has five working black labs currently ,and has kept black labs eversince i can remember, NEVER saw one with a white diamond, however i'm no expert, a Lab guru will probably be here soon ;)

Hi Guest.
These is no need to youse CAPS LOCK on your posts. They will get noticed by all the wonderful people here on champdogs so these is no need to "SHOUT" on the internet. Just telling you incase you decide to join the board...

The breed standard allows for a small spot of white on the chest.

Yes you definitely can have a white diamond, one of my girls has had two babies now with white from different stud dogs. I have a baby with a diamond and his dad is a SH.CH Sandylands boy. He was booked but the lady cancelled incase he was not of the same parentage as his siblings. :)

Hi guys,
The official breed standard states that 'a small white spot on the chest is acceptable, although not disirable'
I have seen a couple over the years, but mostly on chocolates. There was super black lab dog called Jacinto's Cougar who worked in Working trials (prbably still does!) and, if I remember correctly, he had a largish white patch on his front.
Cheers Ali :)

Toby is a pedigree and he has a white chest in the shape of a bone of all things,
