If i stand in another poo.........
This is really getting me down now!
We are very lucky to have a field set out for the local dogs to be safely excercised in. It has 6ft fences, bolts on the gates and even a bin for bags of poo to be placed in for safe disposal. What more could people ask for?
This is a wonderful facility that i do not take forgranted but others do.
Why can't people clean up after their dogs? Its not much to ask!!!!

Our local park, two minutes from home provides bins for dog poop, which I always use.
The field at the back of my house doesn't have any bins and the park is locked at night but we always scoop and take home, yet I came in half an hour ago with poo on my shoe.
Why can't people pick up the mess, it only takes a second or two and if theres no bin, doesn't harm you to carry it home.

I know!!!
It makes me so mad!
My older girl does mountains of poo (she likes to save everything she eats all day for her evening walk) and if anyone was to stand in that they'd probably loose their foot!
How would they like it?! If i can take the time to lift it anyone can!!!!

The trouble is you are preaching :D to the converted.
I take bags out and sadly I must preach too much too or at least moan a lot, because my niece queued for "free" poop scoop bags in her primary school. Then when she came out with me that weekend to walk to pup. We meet a couple who NEVER clean up after their dog (I have my hand on heart here I didn't realise I moaned about it so much) Niece took the "free" bags over to the couple and said
"Hello, I think you may have missed it but your dogs pooed over there, and we have spare bags" with this she gave them the bags smiled and came back.
I didn't know where to look, and am sure I went bright red. My nieces response she was 10 then. "Maybe no one told them to clean it up, and if no one tells you you don't know"
They now always clean up after their dog. :) Karen

I do what your niece did, all said with the most innnocent smile. They are usually so dumfounded that they clear up straight away, on that occasion at least.

If there are poop bins I don't know why people don't use them.
The majority of people near here do appear to use them. There is the odd person or two who doesn't, in particular one of them being our dogs friend. his owner never seems to have a poo bag and is always saying that the dog normally doesn't poo outside.
The thing that annoys us though is that the park and field are only 5 minutes tops walk from our house, so if the dog does a poo why can't he go home get a bag and then go back and pick it up.
If we run out of poo bags (Cara sometimes does two or three) we go home get a back and go back.

I can't believe that girl from Eastenders on Celebrity Dog Training wouldn't clean up after her dog. Why do people have dogs if they aren't prepared to clean up after them. What a good job we don't take that attitude with babies! Then again it works the same with dogs as babies - it's always easier cleaning up after your own! I can stomach my own dogs poo but couldn't pick up other dogs with the same sort of gay abandon!

didn't anyone pull her up on it. I think she should get a fine for admitting thast, as then obviously she has allowed her dog to foul. who the hell then picks up after the poor animal at home????

The trainer did it for her! Yes, she was reprimanded but not seriously enough for my liking.
We have a large green by our house i always use poo bags and it makes me so mad when people dont, they have no excuse there are four doggy bins on this green,
Heidi
p.s went clubbing at weekend put my hand in my jacket pocket and pulled out a poo bag, everyone knew what it was :o

All my coats, bags and the car has poo bags in them just incase. I think i'm probably known round here as the lady with the white dog who carries the brown plastic poo bags. I hate seeing poo everywhere. I'd love to see some folk getting fined on the spot.

I find that people jump to conclusions. Non dog owners see that we own dogs, and they instantly see us as "thoes people who leave dog muck right out side our house" and look down their noses. We are stereotyped instantly. Some dog owners leave there dogs mess, but it doesn't mean we all do! if we all did leave it, then the streets will be really filled with muck!
