Topic Dog Boards / General / Bulldog found on the Motorway

Today as my friends were on their way over to mine to pick me up to go to a Afghan breed open show they found a Bulldog in one of the lanes of the motorway. Cars were just whizzing passed without stopping so they stopped and thank god managed to get the dog to come to them and got a lead around it,s neck they called the police who duly turned up and were told they would take the dog but it was likely to be pts after 24 hours so my friends put her in their car and told the police they would try to sort it so we ended up taking the dog to the show and one of the Exhibitors also has Bulldogs and he got onto rescue and someone travelled up from Wales to Manchester to take care of the dog , the poor dog it looked so frightened and lost,There was no collar on the dog and we have no idea whether it was lost or had been dumped we still haven,t heard from the police so it doesn,t look like anyone has reported the dog missing.

To be quite honest i think it was to get my friends to take care of the dog so they didn,t have the bother

Just a quick update to say we have found the owners of the Bulldog that was picked up on the M62 yesterday. We named her Emmy (M62 - get it?) but her real name is Fi. She will be reunited with her owners just as soon as we can arrange it.
If any of you do not have your dogs microchipped, take this as a lesson learned, if Fi had a chip she would have gone straight back home yesterday as the first thing our volunteer did was check for one!
She sure is a sweet little girl and except for a slight chest infection (probably due to spending all of Saturday night out in the cold) she has been given a clean bill of health by our vet and can go home just as soon as it can be arranged. Thank you to all who were concerned about her

Boy was she lucky. I unfortunately killed a dog who jumped over the barrier straight in front of my car on the motorway. luckily at 70 mph it was killed outright but didn't do much good for my car.

I hope that her owners realise how lucky they are.

Had probs with my pc yesterday so didn,t get online but have to say me and my friends are so pleased that the gorgeous bully has been reunited with her dad and i so hope that he will get her id,d someway ,Prevention is better than cure as they say.And i for one can,t praise Bully Rescue enough they are a credit and their example should be followed by a lot of other rescues. They are so on the ball, and responded so quickly, they were absolutely amazing ,Well done to all concerned.

all breeder,s should have their litter mirco chip before going to the news owners so it one less thing for them to think about,i had mine done and thats why i went on the course for my own puppies first then other people dogs/cats too.

so glad the bulldog got reunited with his owner. I'm getting a puppy for 1st time on November 23rd and after reading this will certainly be seeing about microchipping.
