I would like to know how long it has taken for peoples dogs to get use to the dogmatic's/halti's/gentle leader's.
I am beginning to wonder if my springer will ever calm down, he still rolls around the paths and squeals whenever I take him out and its been 2 months now, should I give up and admit defeat or keep going, its not getting any easier. Although if I give up I dont know what else to try we have had everything on the market.

ONe of our dogs got use to staight away but another anfter about 4 mths acctept it sortof but always used to rub her nose against ur leg untill she was nearly eight when she unfortantly died(:'()

whatever you do DO NOT give in or your dog would have won and he WILL take you for a ride if you give him a chance!

I agree don't give in. Taz accepted his no problem, Cuervo on the other hand always tried to rub it off. They do get use to it after awhile. Good luck :)

Oh don't give in, my dog still shoves her head between my legs as we are walking to try and rub it off but there is no way i could hold her back without it.
She was bad at 1st and threw herself at anything and everything to rub it off, even sat down and refused to move (treats serve as a good blackmail tool).

Os has been wearing his on walks / training for about a year now and we still get the occasional paw to the face / rubbing nose of legs etc. I guess he is still trying is luck! I'd say don't give up - it is hurting them but just itching probably. Os loves it when when scratch his nose under the Dognatic after he has been training for a while!
