Got a 8 week old westie (stevo) who is having a bit of trouble when it comes to toilet time. There are traces of blood in his poo ( can't spell feaces). Have taken him to the vet but insists if it isn't happening all the time, then, don't worry.
Any thoughts

Is it bright red blood (he may have an anal fissure) or dark blood (from higher up the bowel)?

yep, its bright red, and as the other post suggests, we have just changed his feeding patterns from 4 times a day to 3

Hi, we have 12 week old westie who had the same problems, traces of blood in his faeces. Our vet advised us to feed daily amount of food over 5 meals instead of 4. Stopped problem almost immediately. Something to do with little stomachs and bowels not being able to cope with large meals.
Hope this works for you.

This can be common if you are over feeding them.
