I'm not overly worried but wonderd if anyone knew why dogs chew trees?
My 4 month old Akita pup has taken to chewing the bark off of the tree in the back yard! I put it down to teething at first, she hasn't chewed anything of mine so she could have the tree.
Now she seem to be doing it for a laugh. She runs up, gnaws it for a while and then sprints off and bounces round the garden. Any ideas why she's doing this or is she just wierd????
Shes not weird :) my dog chews the bark off logs specially dragged into the garden ( by him) and loves to pull at the trees whose bark naturally sheds in strips. Hes 12 and a half months so hes no excuse.

Oh thats good then lol :-) So long as she's happy.
The problem is, the tree belongs to the RAF!!!!!!!!

She's well happy while she's chewing it! I just hope she's not going to rip it down Lol! Its the RAF's attempt at giving something back to the environment after all the crap their jets and camps spew out!!!!
Thanks for putting my mind at rest!
