Hi all,
Our 4 month old Bernese Mountain Dog Neo has Bursa's on each elbow. Our vet said originally that we should leave these, as he is doing a lot of growing and they would probably go with time. They have got bigger (almost as big as tennis balls on each elbow) so we took him back to the vet, who has suggested that he see a specialist just to check all is ok, although the vet did say that his joints were moving well, and they aren't causing him any pain or discomfort. Has anyone had any experience with Bursa's before that can give me any practical advice on what I can do at home to help? The bursas have been caused by Neo 'flopping' down on hard surfaces and banging his elbows on the floor, am wondering if I should confine him overnight on a soft surface? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Fiona and Neo.
